Last year,
developer Ready at Dawn announced they'd be abandoning PSP development and moving on to bigger and better things. We all assumed this meant a next-gen project of some kind, and now it appears that project is in full swing.
According to PlayStation LifeStyle, Ready at Dawn is indeed hard at work on a new IP for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We don't have any details at this time, but apparently, the game will be "something along Continue reading »

Xbox 360 Significantly Trumps Playstation 3 In Sales
Before the Sony Playstation 3 had come out, it was expected that the console would wipe the floor with the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. However, the outcome was far from that possibility. It was the Nintendo Wii that turned the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 into its “prison lovers.”
Despite the flaws present in the Xbox 360 console, it strongly survived against the Playstation 3. The only flaw that looked to be present in the Continue reading »
Way of the Samurai No Longer PlayStation-Exclusive; Coming to Xbox 360
Last November, Japan saw the PS3 release of Way of the Samurai 3, the latest title in a series I consider to be one of the most underrated PlayStation franchises. While the game
in its first month of release, it was doubtful we’d ever see a US localization due to the series’ historic underselling in the American market.
Now, though, there may be a new ray of hope. According to
), Way of the Samurai developer Spike is porting their game to Continue reading »
Why PlayStation 3 Owners Should Want Star Ocean: The Last Hope
for exclusive superiority in the first part of 2009, there's another Xbox 360 exclusive that PlayStation 3 owners should want: Square-Enix's
.
Now, I'm well aware our readers really have it in for the veteran RPG publisher right about now, and that's perfectly understandable. We may get
as a PS3 exclusive some time in 2047 but until then, the days of Square games only on PlayStation consoles are over. Personally, I don't have even the slightest Continue reading »

Console sales: Wii leads, PlayStation 3 closes in on 360
. There are two interesting things to note this time around, the first of which is the sheer number of consoles Nintendo has managed to deliver. The most recent figure puts the Wii at nearly 45 million sold worldwide, an impressive number no matter which way you look at it. A little under 18 million of those were sold in the U.S., showing that the Wii has a wide international appeal which is contributing to the console's success. From the perspective Continue reading »

Sony PlayStation 3 (Fall 2008)
It's been two years since Sony launched the PlayStation 3, and although the box itself looks the same today, a lot has changed. The price has dropped; developers have released dozens of cool new titles; and Blu-ray has triumphed as the high-definition video format of choice. Perhaps most important, Sony's continual upgrades help the PS3 constantly evolve—bringing new functionality, including enhanced online game play, offering support for the Continue reading »

Developed by Bethesda Game Studios for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360
Rated "M" for Mature including blood and gore, intense violence, sexual themes, strong language, and use of drugs.
In most video games your job is to save the world. In Fallout 3, it’s already too late. The planet is covered in a nuclear blanket of silence. Every building lies in ruin, every city is a morose sandbox of crumbling concrete, rusting iron, and exposed rebar. The surrounding habitation has given way to deserts where nothing grows. NPD Hardware: Wii Again Outsells the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation …
The good news is that the videogame industry is still growing in the United States, as seen in the data the NPD Group has offered for the month of January. The bad news is that the growth seems to be slowing down, when compared to other years.
In January 2009, sales of videogame hardware and software reached the figure of 1.33 billion dollars in the United States, which is some 13% more than in the same period of 2008. Analysts were awaiting a growth Continue reading »
There's Native 3D Gaming in Playstation's Future, Says 3D Advocate
Everyone knows the Playstation 3 has one key thing over the Wii and the Xbox 360: A Blu-ray player.
But according to a recent report, the PS3 will soon have one more thing above the others: native stereoscopic 3D gaming. It's a development that’s not terribly surprising, but it's interesting enough (and potentially lucrative) that its competitors are sure to be watching.
According to Neil Schneider, the CEO of 3D tech purveyor MTBS, Sony will Continue reading »
