Ready At Dawn Developing New PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 IP

Last year,
developer Ready at Dawn announced they'd be abandoning PSP development and moving on to bigger and better things. We all assumed this meant a next-gen project of some kind, and now it appears that project is in full swing.
According to PlayStation LifeStyle, Ready at Dawn is indeed hard at work on a new IP for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We don't have any details at this time, but apparently, the game will be "something along Continue reading »

Grand Theft Auto 4: The Lost and Damned (Xbox 360)

, we're re-envisioning what
was," Rockstar VP of Development Jeronimo Barrera tells me. He goes on to explain that while Liberty City returns in all its impressive glory in this first Grand Theft Auto 4 downloadable episode for Xbox 360 -- from its skyscraper-lined corridors to the scores of virtual people going about their virtual lives -- the story takes on a new direction. Rather than following the tale of an immigrant and having the player discover Continue reading »

Any movie, any time. Is that too much to ask?
It’s technically possible. It’s what the people want. It will make the movie companies rich. And yet not a single legal source of movies — hotel, plane, pay-per-view, video store,
TV, Vudu box, Internet downloads, nothing — offers instant delivery of any movie you want.

Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad Hands-on

January 23, 2009
, shortly before it was to be released in Japan. At that point, there were no solid plans to bring the game to the US and it looked like importing would be the only way to see the bikini-clad zombie slayers. It took over two years, but
is now gearing up for the US release. And what a steamy release it will be.
Like other games in the budget-friendly Onechanbara franchise, this Xbox 360 release has little shame. The game opens Continue reading »

The Xbox 360 Games We're Most Excited For In 2009

After a banner year in 2008, the Xbox 360 looks like it's going to have a big 2009 as well. How do you top a year that had everything from a new "Gears of War" and "Grand Theft Auto" to the artsy "Braid" and the karaoke game "Lips"?
I'm not sure, but here are five games that I'm most excited about in the new year.
Some of us may not be that good at "Street Fighter." But a
isn't going to keep me from eagerly awaiting a chance to learn some skills Continue reading »

Gentlemen, start your next-generation game console rumors

The video game console wars have been kind of boring lately, with no hot rumors to talk about. But
has kicked off a new round of chatter about which chips are going to be in the PlayStation 4, the Wii 2 and the Xbox 3 (not the official names).
There isn’t any official information on this yet. And it’s pretty early for the console makers to lock down on contracts with chip makers. But Charlie has dragged me, kicking and screaming, into Continue reading »

Race Pro Hands-On Preview (Xbox 360)

out in the cold. This decision really makes sense for the U.S.-heavy Xbox 360 market; there aren’t many of North American console owners that know—or care to know—about the world of FIA GT racing. “Give me NASCAR or give me death,” is the main racing credo in these here parts, unfortunately.
Picking up where THQ left off, however, is SimBin’s new partner, Atari—a publisher that’s not afraid of a thorough racing simulator (ie,
). The result Continue reading »

Xbox 360 Significantly Trumps Playstation 3 In Sales

Before the Sony Playstation 3 had come out, it was expected that the console would wipe the floor with the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. However, the outcome was far from that possibility. It was the Nintendo Wii that turned the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 into its “prison lovers.”
Despite the flaws present in the Xbox 360 console, it strongly survived against the Playstation 3. The only flaw that looked to be present in the Continue reading »

Could Hulu Be Coming to Xbox 360?

about what Xbox "want[s] to be when we grow up,” Microsoft 's Shane Kim clearly has video on the brain. With Netflix, he says, they're "just beginning to scratch the surface.”
As examples, Kim mentions watching pro sports games on the Xbox while chatting with your friends, and reveals that they're thinking about adding a music service. (Zune? Hopefully not
service.)
Here's where it gets interesting—Kim says they're not planning on a Continue reading »
